Catch a Wave

Waiting....
July 2007

My iTunes: Undignified by David Crowder Band

I highly recommend any North Carolina Beach although we went to Wrightsville Beach and it was great! The water was as blue as I had ever seen. I promise to post some color images in the next few days. They are so clear. In the hustle and bustle of getting the umbrellas, the towels, the food, the margaritas (yes, my dad's recipe...it is AWESOME), etc.....I looked up and saw my boys (on the outside) with their cousins (on the inside) waiting for the next wave to ride in. I snapped this shot more than a few times. When I was going through them later, I was stopped in my tracks by their body language and intensity. I felt as though I was waiting as well. This part of our life that we are embarking on, I want to be waiting eagerly like the boys. My nephews in the middle are ready to dive in at any given second and take on what is to be coming soon. I am eagerly anticipating the Lord and yearning to see what He has in store for our family....what an adventure so far!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Cool shot. Good B&W conversion.

I think only 3/4 of the kids are anticipating the next wave. The boy on the left looks rather indifferent, as if he's saying, "Dude, these waves are nothin' compared to Hawa'ii, or however you spell it."

We were on the outer banks for vacation at the end of May/beginning of June. It was wonderful!

Have a great time. Thanks for letting me know. Not too far from me. About 5 hours.

I like this in b&w. Not sure I would have really thought about an ocean/beach shot in anything but color but this really works!

What a great photo and blog entry Anna.

I will be heading to NC for a motorcycleride through those beautiful mountains next weekend!

Anna-great shot! I can't believe you are in North Carolina! My parents live in Raleigh and I will be visiting them mid Sept.! We always go to Emerald Isle for a week. Beautiful beaches and no crowds...I love it. I get so tired of the crowds here in SoCal. can't wait to see more!!

Great Expectations...I think the Lord has great things in store for your family and you as you move into the next chapter of your lives.

I think you made the right choice of choosing B&W for this one. The four boys in silhouette makes a strong graphic image to me. In color, this might have been just another snapshot for the family album. Good call!

Anna, I really like this one, but it has an eerie feeling to me (in B&W), as if it is the beginning shot for a science fiction show on TV......LOL

I love this photo in black-and-white, however I can't wait to see some of the color images you post!

I wish you all the best in this new phase of your life!

Don't you just love the beach? It's so fun to go and just let the kids play.

I pray your transition back to the states is going well. You have some amazing photographs to remember that particular time in your life. If you're like me, they'll work to bring back the smells, emotions and feelings from that moment in time.

Can I ask what program you use when your add effects to your photos? I've just been using my iPhoto effects, but I'd like more choices.

Great picture.
