School Days Again

All Packed Up
August 2008

My iTunes:  See the Sun by The Kooks

Monday was the start of school here in Atlanta.

I was so ready for this day.  My kids and I do so much better on a schedule...we get along better and I feel my home run more smoothly.  So when I walked out of their elementary school and the PTA had provided Kleenex for the parents, I graciously offered my pack for some one else to have!  I am sure some mother's (like me) were crying tears of joy as well....

I snapped this pic of my Jack as he waited to get in the car before school.  He was ready!  Of course, he wasn't ready until he laid his eyes on the pair of skinny jeans I got him (yes, I said skinny jeans).  He has been wanting these jeans forever...ever since he has seen them on all the British rockers in London when we lived there and at our church on Sunday on the guys in the worship band.  He had his new bag, his new shoes and his new jeans....in his realm of reality...it was a perfect day.

So far so good...

That sums it up nicely! Same as my daughter; do they ever grow into those backpacks?

Actually, I like summer. I like the freedom of no homework (I speak for myself and my kid)

Great job on all these "Paid Shoots" Anna :)

Jack is going to be one of those well dressed boys who is well traveled and versed in the ways of life outside of the US and have girls falling for him left, right and center... Good thing he's such a nice kid and he'll probably let most of them down pretty easily with no intentionally broken hearts... MISS YOU!

I could so live with the new fad being clothes that fit. It is major past time!

I hope what Jack finds at school encourages rather than dashes his enthusiasm.

Is it me or does that backpack closely resemble a Shootsac?

Wow, I thought my kids started early. Our schools don't open until next Thursday. What says "first day of school" better than new clothes, new shoes, and new backpack?

Love that bag even though it looks almost as big as him! And wow! Yellow shoes. You go Jack. Not sure when kids around here go back to school, but it's definitely at least two weeks away.

Those jeans and that bag are brilliant (sorry, couldn't bring myself to say 'awesome' :)). Love it!

So, you need to read "The Anglo Files: A Field Guide to the British" by Sarah Lyall. I have it and am about half way through. Holy moly. :) I can't wait to move!!

That is a really early school start time. My grandkids go back the last week of August which is even hard for me to wrap my brain around.
I like when the kids are ready to begin the new season of their lives.
Skinny pants...love the look.

Started school already? Wow. I hope the kids in Atlanta end up more educated as a result. It would be a shame to put in all that time without some payoff.

Love it! We would have started in Indiana today but here we don't go back until SEPTEMBER! I agree with Anna- he is sure to be a heart breaker. He just LOOKS so cool. And then to be so fabulous on top of that, it just spells trouble!
