Indian BBQ

All Smiles...
June 2007

My iTunes: International Love Song by Caedmon's Call

Taking a break from my tour of Britain for a bit. I'm tired and in need of a break...you know, for petrol, a Diet Coke and some crisps...maybe a quick stop in the loo! :)

Our family was invited over to a friends home last Sunday. We had such a good time. The kids played football (aka...soccer) and then played some casual cricket while the adults hung out and visited. Later they made us Indian food and we brought over desserts. I have never been to an Indian BBQ before and it was YUMMY! We were served grilled sweet corn, white and sweet potatoes and then later we had some chili paneer along with behl poori. We finished up the evening with homemade waffles, ice cream and some homemade chocolate chip cookies (Nestle Tollhouse, of course, you can't get them here).

The image above is one of my favorites from the evening. Isn't she beautiful? I love the way she is laughing and smiling. Whenever she sees me with my camera she just beams and this day was no different. The color of her sari is such a vibrant color of pink...it really compliments her. The bottom image is of our Samuel. He is quite the athlete and had a fun time playing cricket. I snapped this after one of his hits. For the record, I will NEVER understand the game!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Oh, those photos are gorgeous. My friend Shirley would have loved to have been there with you enjoying the Indian food. She and her husband made many good Indian friends while they were in England too.

Your Sam is such a handsome guy. I would say pretty, but he probably wouldn't like that. :-)

Of course you won't understand cricket. Australians rule at the game so there is no need to know how to play or understand the rules for that matter! *giggle giggle*

I have a good friend who is Indian and the spreads they put on are always wonderful and oh so tasty.

You're right, that woman is beautiful and she looks as if she is beaming.

I am reading a book written by an Indian woman, and I would love to taste some of their food right now! BTW, my doctor is Indian too; 95 lbs. soaking wet and very pretty!

What a lovely lady and the sari is beautiful. Of course the handsome little fellow is quite dashing too! I love the pictures from Stonehenge, how fabulous to be able to pop in the car and go there!

Another couple of great people pics, here.

Love the perspective on Samuel, with the cricket bat way down there slightly out of focus.

Have a great weekend!

You are right, she really is beautiful and the colour of the Sari some how matches the joy you can see in this ladies face!

Great shot of Samuel too! :o) I don't think you need to understand cricket...I certainly don't...I just know it goes on for a VERY long time!!

Hope you have a good rest and enjoy your weekend :o) {{HUGS}}

I have to agree. Your portraits always amaze me. The "person" really shines...and that's tough to capture.

I'm jealous. I've neve rhad homeade Indian food. I can only image it would be much tastier than the restaurant Indian we eat round here...and I even love that so I can't imagine the real stuff.

Great shots. How nice to have a friend who doesn't run when they see the camera (as mine do!)

As for my pc problems--I have thought about a Mac, but it's not in the budget right now (and I just got CS3!) However, I am going to back to college for some graphic arts classes, and that will be on a Mac, so I might "have" to get one!

A very vibrant image of the sari lady, and Sam is lovely. Cricket is a mysetery to me...
