Wandering...

The streets of London Town
June 2007

My iTunes: For The Moments I Feel Faint by Relient K

My favorite thing to do here? OK, besides look up and take pics off center? Wander the streets. Whether I am in my neighborhood on the Hill or down in the city, there isn't a place in the world like London. I snapped this while I was in the city. While walking through a maze of narrow streets, you find buildings like this a lot, some have just painted doors, some have painted the entire facade. The streets are clean and the flowers are in their rightful position adorning the windows up high. Make sure to click the image above to embiggen (thanks Carmi!) and see the Ye Old Print Shop.

I am headed out on a fantastic journey for a few days with my better half. I am so excited that I am about to burst. I will not be posting while I am gone and will catch up on my posts and commenting when I return. My husband has made me promise to power off for the duration of our trip...something about relaxing and being on vacation! What is that?!?! I am hoping to come back with some exciting images to share. I can give only one hint until then....I will be wandering there as well!

Take care friends & have a wonderful week!

Remember to center a couple of them for John.

When you decide to leave in the colors, you do it with style.

I love the various colors in this shot. I have some colorful photos ready for my latest post (but not quite as historically significant as anything in London).

I hope you have a wonderful time and good luck with powering down. We're leaving for northern New Mexico in about 10 days (for a full week!) and I'm going to try to wait until our return to post.

We'll see how that goes.

I like where you placed the yellow store front in the frame. This soft focus also works really well in London where we assume fog. I wonder if you'll have to change your style a little when you get back to the USA?

What a great image, I love the editing here, London really does have gems like this all over it's just a matter of stumbling across them!

Have a great trip, Anna. I hope the powering down doesn't include your camera ;)

I love the buildings in the picture. I can assure you that wandering my neighborhood would find nothing like this. I'm actually a bit curious how they've accomplished this...such bright primary colors, and they still look dignified. Crazy Brits.

Unplugging for a bit is good. I had a great time when I did it last week... though the first few hours were kind of shakey, by the end I was sorry to have to power back up....

Have a good time.

You promised to turn off your camera? That's not relaxation!

Also, Ye Olde Print Shop could make more money if he changed the name to Ye Olde Print Shoppe.

In the states, that simple pe added to the word shop would allow him to charge exorbitant prices and the folks who like that sort of thing will come and pay the higher prices.

Hmm. Maybe I could call myself Johannes instead of John, and open a Johannes's Camera Shoppe and make a quick buck and retire early.

I can't wait until your return: I'm sure your memory card will be chock full of goodness.

I love the juxtaposition of dour brick and brightly painted surfaces in this image. Superb perspective.

Anna,

I'd like to use one of your pictures in my blog header. Only if it's OK with you.

Still following your pictures. It's great fun to watch your perspective. I'm watching and learning. :)
