I Love Lucy

Taking a ride in Sam's pumpkin!
October 2007

My iTunes: Dancing Nancies by Dave Matthews Band

When we found Riley....(see last post)...we were in search of a puppy for our Sam. However, he had specific criteria for us to follow...

1. girl dog
2. small dog

Riley fit neither of these. He will grow to be about 40 pounds. Lucky for us and Riley...we saw him first and my husband went nuts! So we were still on the hunt for a little girl. Sam wants a little girl for a specific reason. He is our youngest and has always wanted a little sister! That was NOT happening! So a girl dog was the next best thing. He had her name picked out before he even laid eyes on her and her name fits her perfectly. He is very serious about this new relationship and takes her everywhere.

Lucy is two whole pounds of love. She is a sweetie and will grow to be 9 pounds. She is a Schnoodle not a Snickerdoodle as my husband keeps lovingly calling her! This breed is part miniature schnauzer, part miniature poodle....also hypo-allergenic and they don't shed. She and Riley have met and seem to be getting along just like brothers and sisters do! :) So at the end of week one....things are going well. With an A-OK at their first vet visit, they are being crate trained and they have been doing their "business" outside since they came home to us! YAY!

Anyhow....here is a few more pics. Have a great week!

Beautiful pups -- but two at once, with kids, too? You're brave.

I hope you can train that combination of the two yappiest dogs in the universe to control its barker. Maybe when you breed the two together, they two cancel each other out!

Lucy the schnoodle...quite the moniker. She is really cute and your son is one lucky fella to have her.

Oh come on, I think Sam needs a REAL baby sister!

They are both lovely. That cross sounds a great blend. I've owned both schnauzers and poodles but never in the same dog at once!!

There is nothing like a new puppy..they bring a joy that can't be matched and these both are adorable. Just wished I could hug them:)

Wow from no dogs to two dogs! They're both so cute! I'm sure Sam is going to be quite protective of the new little "girl" in the house.

are you setting up some kind of animal shelter?

Neither dog will shed? In the south? In the summer? I'll check back with you in July and see if they're still as advertised. ;-)

I think there is a conspiracy going on. All my regular blogs have photos of the most adorable puppies. I will have to go and give my cat extra hugs for being unfaithful to him. He really is second best for me, except he is so much more practical for our circumstances. But I love him to bits. (Though I suspect I would love a goat or anything else gentle soft and furry, just as much.)

She has a face that absolutely makes my heart melt. Our miniature schnauzer approves, too...he's trying to lick the screen as I type this!

Lucy is cute as the dickens. I can see both breeds in her but the poodle stands out stronger--at least as a puppy.

Riley & Lucy are SO adorable!!! Oh girl, I haven't been to your blog in over a MONTH. That saddens me. I miss you! I thought about you a lot while I was in Camden last week!! I ate at Bintang :)

Aw. How cute!

We have four little poodles and love them to death. They play until the day they die.
