What I'm Listening To: Black Balloon by Goo Goo Dolls
BTW, Marc, I post the name of the song I am listening to while writing and editing my blog. Thanks for asking!

I love London.
While my better half is still healing, I headed out with my daughter for some girl time. My medicinal therapy was through, now it was time for some retail therapy. Figuratively speaking of course! Window shopping is the name of the game in this town! Despite that, we had such a fun afternoon together.
We definitely have our moments as mother and daughter (mainly because we are cut from the same cloth), but today was a good day. We took a walk, had some lunch, did a little shopping, split a dessert and had some good conversation. These are the days I have always looked forward to since she was a baby...trying on shoes and dresses together and then laughing with eachother as we talked about life, music, and stuff. It was a joy for me.
I snapped this image as we got off a double decker and headed to the shops. The driver was actually polishing it as I approached and asked if I could get a couple of shots. I think he was surprised that I took the first one...I mean, a headlight is a headlight, right? Not to me! So I made sure to get a fuller view as well. It was funny. I see these taxis everywhere in London, however, these are the first images I have shared on my blog. Why now? Totally because of the color. A girls day...a pink taxi? How could I not be all over that!?! :)
Hope you are well and thanks for all the kind comments for us to get healthy. I think it's helping!
What a Ride!

the color's simply gorgeous....my mom has a sari in that colour and i was instantly reminded of it when i saw ur pic.....funny how human mind connects the dots!!!!
I like 'em both. Love the color. The headlight photo is great. Bit of a change from the famous black taxis, eh?
Love that girly pink car!! I have such a good time with my girls (aged 12 and 14). I miss their baby days but I love them more and more as they grow up into young women!
I'm so glad you and your daughter had fun.
Really a neat taxi shot Anna. Don't really think I care to ride in that particular one though. I'm waiting for some good shots of those double decker buses we rode on.
Love you, Dad
LOL......NO, I can't imagine your dad in a hot pink taxi.....I laugh out loud thinking of it. He and mr. kenju had lunch today, BTW.
I know what you mean about having fun with your daughter. I had great fun with my two last week in NYC.
I am glad that you had a wonderful day with your daughter. The pink taxi photos are so good! I love the perspective you used. Hope that both of you are feeling better very soon!
Cool!!! So bright!

The Germ
A mighty creature is the germ,
Though smaller than a pachyderm.
His customary dwelling place
Is deep within the human race.
His childish pride he often pleases
By giving people strange diseases.
Do you, my poppet, feel infirm?
You probably contain a germ.
Beautiful shots, especially the top one!
I can't say that I have ever seen a pink taxi so I am glad you captured this one on film. What a memory to share with your daughter.
Great pictures.
A pink taxi! I've seen it all! Cool shots.
LOL....I love it!
WHOA.. a pink taxi.. Never seen anything like that in my life.. :) :)It is tons of fun to get out shopping with daughters. It is my favorite passtime. :) :) Thanks for the comments on my blog. :)
Aloha
Renee :)
A headlight is never just a headlight in much the same way that a railing post isn't just a railing post and a colorful half-moon jelly isn't just a jelly. You've got such a great eye for detail - photographic and otherwise. You don't just share the image, you share the context within which it was taken.
I can totally relate.
So glad things are finally turning for the better. I think travel is nature's way of making us feel physically ill.
Ummm, the taxi looks like raspberry sherbet. What a lovely shade for transportation.
A pink car:) That is beatiful Anna :)
damn that is one hot taxi! was molly ringwald driving it? ;)
LOL! You got me on this one - I had no idea that it was a taxi. What a fun ride! I have always said, "If I could live anywhere outside of the US it would be in London." What a wonderful city - so much beauty, architecture and greenery. Love the parks, the people...everything. Your photos keep bringing it all back to me. Thank you!
Hey... Glad to see you out and about... Hope John is feeling well enough to join you soon...
I'm glad you had such a good time on the girls day out... :-)

You should have gotten someone to snap you and your daughter's picture in one of those taxis. Peptobismo pink! Why have these not appeared in pictures in print magazines?
