What I'm Listening To: The Otherside by Andrew Balkwill...to listen, go here.
The reason why I had yet to "officially" welcome you to out neighborhood is because I was waiting for spring to get here to the Hill. It seems as though it is here now so I'm all set...
For this occasion, I made sure to post my favorite British piano rocker to give props to the homebred talent here in London. There is no doubt that this big island oozes musical creativity. Please take a sec to check him out. As I went to the grocery today (I know, fun, huh?), I had all the windows rolled down and the CD cranked with Dont Stop Jenny by Balkwill. I hope to see him live again soon. Great show!
So this is a shot of the sign as you enter the Hill. It looks much more inviting with the pretty blossoms all around. At the very least, better than it did a short month ago when all the branches were bare. I even managed to get a close up of a blossom below for you. Make sure you click to make it larger, it's so beautiful. It doesnt look real, but it is! If you frequent my blog, you know that I post a lot of what I see here in my neighborhood...if you are new, please take a look around to get a feel for this unique place that we call home. It's pretty charming, although I am quite biased. :)
Have a good weekend everyone!

thanks for welcoming us into the 'hood. :)
i love the blossoms surrounding the sign....you guys look like you are in full bloom!
What beautiful trees! The late frost took care of all things blooming here. Thanks for the comment on my quirkiness. I'm so glad that I didn't scare everyone off. I always say that you can tell the real Christians because they accept that you don't have to be a perfect person. Because really no one is,they just act like they are!
HI Anna
Beautiful blooms, isn't spring wonderful. Ours was cut short by another cold spell which is dragging out but unfortunately has killed off all of the new blossoms so I don't know how much color we will have this Spring.
Thanks for keeping up with my blog and all of your well wishes, I really appreciate your words and visits. The last time I checked in here you and your husband were feeling under the weather. I hope all is well now. (((((Hugs)))))
Lori
The titles the Brits give to things (ie - neighborhoods) makes them seem so.....special. When viewed through Anna's camera lens they are indeed special.
I'm simply amazed by the full res enlarged version of those blossoms. Man simply cannot create the beauty that God puts into even a simple tree blossom.
The pink tree is really gorgeous, Anna; the blossoms look good enough to eat - like strawberry sherbert!
I enjoy your photos each day, and I'm amazed at how every song you mention is one I like.
In the two weeks I've been following your work here, I noticed that you do some type of post-processing that gives the edges a soft look and, in some case, in seems that you manually do some blurring of the background to create depth of field. As a photography hobbyist myself, I'm curious.
How close am I on that, and what do you do to achieve the effects?
Thank you for the official welcome to your neighbourhood :-)
That blossom is just lovely and your photo of it is wonderful. I have some blossom on my blog too atm! The trees seem full of it don't they?
Yes, everyone's town/neighborhood looks better in Spring! Our tulip tree was just starting to show some leaf sprouts, but a 2" snow last Saturday knocked all that back. Everything is so green further south - we're still waiting.
The close-up of the pink flower is really beautiful.
Beautiful blossoms... Great perspective....
What kind of flowering tree is this. Those bunches look like a bouquet. Simply gorgeous.
My brother and I went to the Norfolk Botanical Garden yesterday. I had never been there before and I must say it is very well done. It will be spectacular when more of the plants are blooming. As it was I took over 300 pictures!
Beautiful blossom! You live in a place I visited often a few years ago!! Looking forward to plenty more colourful images through the summer :o)
The neighborhood as i have seen before on your blog is indeed very charming and ur pics do justice, am sure........loved the blossoms...Earth rejoices in spring..it's so evident with pics from all across the globs...have a great weekend, Anna
Anna:
Beautiful images as usual. The flowers are nice. I know the dogwoods are blooming in North carolina where my parents live but they too got a cold snap so not sure what they look like now!
Love looking at your blog. You and Lori are so good about posting...I have been lax this week. I will try and do better.
Hi Anna,
thank you for visiting my blog and thank you for your comment! Youe have nice fotos .... I like it!
I wish you a nice weekend!
Ratze
These are so beautiful - love them!
Great shots! You have ample reason to be biased. You've done a great job showing off your area.
Beautiful! I love the blooming trees!
