Getting Warmer?

Admiring No. 10
February 2007

After my post "Pajama Day", one of my regular commenters requested I find a warm picture to post....soon. Here you go Sarch...because of you, I decided to post an image from a few days ago before the real cold weather hit.

I snapped this as a secondary shot because I couldn't get the one I wanted. There is a home that always keeps its gate closed when I walk by...this day, it was partly open. I wish that I could show you a picture of a beautiful blue door in the sun with a large tree hanging over the entry way. I can't because I couldn't muster up the nerve to walk through the gate. I had the kids with me and had the fleeting thought of having one of them run in there and I could take the picture quickly. But I didn't. Instead I opted for this photo. I really like it because of the weathered brick, the blues and greens in the background and the little spots of sunshine hitting the leaves.

Mark my word though...I will get that photo I wanted! I just need to be patient.

Go on be a dare and get that photo of the door...

Nice composition, good textures in the brick. This is the sort of shot that I just walk past without seeing.

You are so funny! I bet they wouldn't mind if you snapped a photo. I would take that as a compliment of having a gorgeous house! After reading your blog for a while now, I am thinking what a great idea to walk around taking pictures of neat things that we see each day, but never capture. My kids would love that! So, can I have a new blog called Anna #2's Photo of the Day?? LOL just kidding.

Now you need #10 Downing Street!

A nice shot. I'm with Mike. Go for it. MY experience is that people are often willing to let you take shots of their places. You have no idea how often I've left a note in people's mailboxes asaking to shoot something, and how often they say yes!

Beautiful textures and colours, and I really like the way you composed the shot. One day you'll get that photo you want, I know it!

The other, other Anna :D

speaking of...did you ever leave the photo in the other house's mailbox?
also- i'll be gone for a couple of days to have a "sister" getaway with motherskylark w/out kids...one last visit before they head back to your neck of the woods. :)

LOL yes I am the same way. But you will pluck up the courage one day, maybe see the owner in the driveway and just ask them if you can please take a shot of their beautiful door.

I Like the number on the brick. Don't know how sucessful you will be at getting at #10 Downing Street as suggested, dont think you will get close enough LOL

Anna I really like the pic! It has "Anna" written all over it.

I truly believe I could pic out one of your photos from a group of others. Is it possible to get to "know" a person from the perspective they show us of their world through photos?

My apologies for the late response. Work has been brutal and evenings have barely been enough to recoup, let alone post as I would like.

Thank you for the photo Anna!
