A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words....

Pic of a Pint
February 2007

I am really hoping that the saying in the title of my post is true! I am tired and the picture has to explain it all tonight! One of my friends is here from the States and so we had to go to our local pub to hang out. The Castle is a hop, skip and jump from our home and so we went for a pint (or two) and then ordered the Wheat Beer and Lime Battered Fish and Chips. You cannot come here without having this and it is the best fish and chips I have EVER eaten in London. It was great to catch up with eachother next to the warm fireplace with no concept of time. It will be an afternoon that I will always remember.

The people were so welcoming to us and some of the regulars offered to buy as many beers as I needed to get the pictures I was wanting...VERY NICE! They must be art lovers to make such an offer! I even was passing out my blog address so they could check it out later....

I snapped this image on our first round. I liked the color of the beer and the lime floating just under the head. If you ever get to the Hill, make sure that you stop for a pint at the Castle and tell them Anna sent you! Thanks to them for being so kind to us! We will be back but now I am off to bed.....

Hahahaha!! Ok, it totally cracks me up that John's comment is the first one on here...ha!! :) We have a beer connection.

Ok, before I saw his comment I was going to say:

Mmmm. You've gotta take me there this summer - so now we've got beer, margarita and hot chocolate dates. Sweet. Can't wait!

Great pic Anna! Is the Castle a neat place or what? No, they don't permit homeschooling there.

I'm not a beer drinker but the fish and chips sounds wonderful. Would the pub have soft drinks too?

The reflection in the scooter mirror was very cool, as my daughter would say.

Hi Anna,

Now this is something I've not seen... an English pint served with a lime in it.. :O You only normally get this with a Corona.

Yum - sounds deeeeelish! Glad you had a great afternoon, and that the folks in the pub were so supportive of your photography! :)

Those Saturday afternoons with a friend by a fire are definitely ones to be treasured.

Anna, that is inviting. I went out Friday night with a friend ...Same thing, we had wonderful time and had a lot of things to talk. The music was so high, so we had to speak loud. After taht, Saturday morning I realized that I loosed my voice...But, hey...every once in a while, that's not a problem. Actually it is good indeed. Glad to see, you had good time and made some local friends and new fans for your blog maybe:)

I love this picture, Anna. The more I see of your work, the more I realize that we have often-parallel views of the world. To wit, take a look a this recent entry:

Great minds think alike :)

Anna my dear lass,

As a real ale drinker, I almost said something nasty when I saw a piece of lime in your pint!

Anyway, please pass on my advice, "Never, never eat on an empty stomach!"

Maybe you can guess, but I am the thinly blond old fart at the end of the bar when you were at the Castle.

Cheers
