Lacing Up...(again)

Here we go...
May 2007

My iTunes: KRU by Krukid

Today was the day...

Jackie, our friend who is staying with us for awhile, has lit a fire with Sadie and me to get us running again together. Please take a sec to welcome her to Blogland, her link is above and on my sidebar. Jackie is a dedicated runner (at least she has been) and is starting back up now that she is in London with us. So at 8:15 this morning, the three of us laced up our shoes, grabbed the iPod and hit the pavement. I CANNOT run without music. I would be bored out of my mind just looking at scenery. Is that awful? When I have music, there is a clear kick in my step and I find myself trying to run with the pace of the song. It is really good for me. And I can't have any slow stuff....it has to be hip-hop, rock, or techno....period. Anything else and I give in way too easy or start focusing on pain I night be feeling on any given step.

I snapped this shot after we were all done running. We started with 1.3 miles today and will hopefully be doing the same tomorrow without walking at all. We will see. One day at a time! Make sure to ask me every now and then how my run was...it will help to encourage me! Also, any running advice is always welcome! :)

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend! All you moms (including my own) have a great Mother's Day!

I run at the pace of a turtle, so no advice will be forthcoming from here....LOL. I am still looking to see if I can find your photos (if any). Sorry to be so long about it. Have a Happy Mother's Day, Anna!

No advices... I can't run, just walk! I love walking and talking! I use my ipod only if I am alone, but I feel more encouraged to walk when my neighbor knocks or leaves a note under the door early in the morning, that keeps me going. Happy Mother's day!!!

Hi Anna

Glad that Sam is better and that you both got to spend some quality time together even if it was because he was not well.

Congrats on the pictures for The Dolls House, I love your shot of your lunch, makes my mouth water!! Yummy.

I have never been able to run much, get shin splints and also get bored LOL, much prefer to ride a horse, and believe me that is not a cop out because you will be amazed at how many muscles you use when you ride, even muscles you forgot you had!!! So people who say that horse riding is easy should do it themselves and they will change their thinking LOL.

Have a great Sunday (((Hugs))))

Can't really do the running but am looking forward to walking when we move into our new home. We will be on flat streets. Much too hilly and steep where we now live.
Keep up the good work and have a wonderful Mothers Day Anna.

Love the shoe shot, need smellovision though. Well, scratch that, not for freshly ran in shoes.

I understand about the music. When I used to run, back in the day, I felt the same. Music is a great motivator. I mostly bicycle now, but strangely, I don't need the music for that. I guess I'm moving fast enough to not need the distraction.

Nice shot, and glad to hear you're exercising. I need to get back into that myself.

Happy Mother's Day!

I try to work out on my Orbitrek 3-4x per week. If I ran outside, the weather would give me too many excuses not to go. I can't do it without music either.

Have a great Mother's Day Anna. Keep on running!

Anna,
You know I would like that shot ;)

I know what you mean about needing music to exercise. When I "walk" I need music. It's first about the music then the scenery. The exercise is a byproduct.

I need tunes to work, but not allowed a head-set, n they often shut it off which aggrivates me.

Great you have the time, freedom, n ability to go out there n move to tunes- keep it up! Nice shoes-

Lovely shot of the running shoes, Anna. Good luck with the running. It's a great sport if your legs can hold up to the pounding.

YAY!! I used to be a runner.....those were the days. I would love to get into it again, but I just can't do it alone. So I'm raising a glass of *insert fav alcoholic beverage* to toast you running on a regular basis again! :) Sweet.

P.S. I wear Asics. I'm a die-hard Asics fan.
