My iTunes: Face Down (acoustic) by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

After a harrowing travel story, our family finally arrived here this morning and slowly but surely getting over some pretty serious jetlag. it is so great to have them here and to share a bit of what our world looks like on a daily basis. Since they haven't been here to London before, we are headed to the city to take in some sightseeing all day. I may not be back until late but I am looking forward to sharing some great shots with you over the next few days.

I snapped this shot in our neighborhood while on a walk. I am never at a loss of things to study through my lens when I am exploring around here. I liked the the glass window with the patterns, the stone, the brick and the vines creeping through the iron gate.

I like the title. :)

This is a really neat neighborhood...Although Sadie told me yesterday we have ghosts.

Oh, and I'm glad you liked it! hehe

I love this photo. The framework for the skylight seems anachronistic vs. the front of the building.

Gosh I'm envious. I know that's not a good emotion to have, but danged if I can help it.

If I walked around our neighborhood, I would see... pretty much nothing except cookie-cutter suburb housing, no trees, and boring wood privacy fences.

You are blessed to live in such a place while running a photo-a-day blog.

That's not to take anything away from you, of course. I probably wouldn't come up with the great stuff you do even if I had London at my fingertips.

All I can say is WOW! I love this shot and I too, am envious...I can't believe this is in your neighborhood! Such great architecture!! Hope you have fun with your family and can't wait to see more!!!

Nice textures and framing.

(I do have a macro lens, EF 100mm f2.8 USM, and I love it. Today's shot was made using my kit lens. The flower is fairly large so I could get pretty close. I just got Photoshop CS 3, and it has some new features that help with processing, especially converting to b&w.)

Cute title. I bet you couldn't do a "Wordless Wednesday." I don't think I could.

Great shot of a really neat window.

Take care and have fun with your family.

I love the layered effect the transparency gives this picture.

And yes...London seems to agree with your camera. But then again...so do fans...and fences...and lawn chairs...and cakes...and pretty much anything else you point the thing at. So capture your current home as well as you can and have confidence that great pitures await in the future as well.

This is a wonderful, wistful picture. At least I interpret it as wistful... perhaps it is just the mood I'm in.

Your framing choice really works well on this one. And I like the tone also -it adds to the "aged" feel of the photo.

That is such great composition, Anna. I doubt the subject would be interesting from most angles but you found a perspective that makes these everyday objects shine to the extent that it's art. It is a very pretty window as well.
