Scrumptious Sweets

My iTunes: Wonderwall by Oasis

Take a good look...the cake above was made for me by my daughter today. Isn't it pretty? It was just as tasty as well! She made it from scratch herself and then tied that pretty black and white ribbon around the bottom. So creative. I was wondering what Sadie was doing in the kitchen all that time. How nice to be on the receiving end of such a thoughtful gesture...usually I am treated to her rolling her eyes and shutting her door....but not today. :)

Thanks Sadie....I love you.

The image below is a shot of the cake made by Sadie's cousin Alex. They are both so wonderful looking! Both girls love to cook and have always talked about having a restaurant or something together one day. You two are well on your way girls! I better get a family disocunt...my mouth is watering!

Those are some colorful cakes! Almost too pretty to eat.

I've always been amazed at how many things can be made from "scratch": cakes, biscuits, pies, stews, etc. My Mom once made a dress from scratch. Versatile stuff, that scratch.

Even as an adult, I have difficulty making food look anywhere near that good. There's definitely something in the genes in your family: two culinary artists are born.

It's lovely to be back on terra firma. Just looking through my picture pile brings me joy. I can't wait to share them with everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around lately, I graduate high school in a week and I have been drowning in things to get done before that!

Obviously, they both have talents in cooking as well as decorating. I am not surprised, seeing as how they are both smart and beautiful and they have wonderful role models for mothers!

Very dramatic cakes. True artists in the kitchen.

mmmmm...yum yum yum... Am so impressed :) Not only by the fact that both those cakes look so delicious, but also that your teenage daughter made it. For you. On her own. Wow!! Talk about a mother's day treat!
I am never more blessed than when one of my kids does something for me, or gives me something, however small or imperfect; this is one of the most beautiful gifts a mother can receive.

What beautiful sentiment...
Every once in a while, when I see such heartfelt beauty, I briefly start to question my solitary life as a hermit... Thanks for this glimpse into your world...

There's a whole psychology lesson there. Like John Robert's daughter's Mardi Gras masks, one low key and understated, the other was over the top outrageous.

I'd love to have tasted each.

I love that the first one looks like a hat with the plate as a yellow rim. Good job! Was she going for the hat theme?

Nyssa has not made me a cake but she has made dinner for all of us... Chicken Parmesan. I have pictures just need the recipe from her.....then a post.
