Trees in the Smokey Mountains
November 2007
My iTunes: No One by Alicia Keys
I have been obsessed with trees since I landed back in the States. It is so beautiful here. We have been blessed to travel all over the Earth and every place leaves an impression that will be with me forever. But there is no place like home. In the midst of changes, my senses have been soothed by familiarity.
The better half and I took a trip into the mountains of Tennessee and he graciously pulled the car over while I ventured out of the car. These trees remind me of Aspen trees that I had seen driving up to Pikes Peak in Colorado two and a half years earlier. They are the most beautiful trees I have ever seen in fall...the reds and the yellows were magnificent.
Anyhow, thought you might like this one as much as I do.

I DO love it - it's beautiful! I also have a photo with yellow leaves that I will post later this week. I'm so glad you're back!
It's like sunlight made tangible. Lovely.
Its beautiful and dreamlike :)
Wow, two days in a row! It is good to have you back. I know life in the states is probably much more hectic than good old England.
I love the photo and I like trees like you do. I do ok until I climb in a plane and watch the landscape below and see the devastation we have wrought upon it. It is there you can tell the trees that are lost.
Take care and this is a beautiful picture.
Mike
So glad you're back! The photo is gorgeous!
The fall colors of the Ozarks are what I miss most since our move to Texas.
Very nice colors, and an almost ethereal image.
Love it! Just tried to call again but got your voice mail. I saw your latest blog post and thought "Hey, why not call?" Anyway someday I'll eventually get a hold of you, you busy mommy you!
So glad you're back and posting again! Hope your 2008 has started off well!
You were close to our neck of the woods!
Absolutely love it! Looks like a painting.
looks like dreamland ...:)
What gorgeous color!
Another great shot!
Oh Anna, you are so right, without reading your text I thought this was shot in Colorado... Wishing you a great 2008!
Beautiful photo of the trees. When we lived in Powder Springs and our girls were little, we'd take off on Saturday around noon and drive up to the mountains. We'd picnic at Brasstown Bald or somewhere like that, looking over the valleys. It was great to be able to see such beauty in an afternoon drive.
To this day, Lovely Wife still drives most places, because I invariably have my camera. She's used to stopping to let me get out and take a few shots.
