My iTunes: People Are Strange by The Doors

As I sit here, I should be cleaning. Some friends are coming for a visit and I am so excited for them to get here! They are friends from London and they will be here all next week.

I snapped this shot the other day at a photo session. The shoot was a blast. As I watched the train go by loaded down with all the containers is brought back memories of when we loaded our own container to move to the UK and then loaded it to come back home to the States. Time sure does fly...

It is good to be home.

I like this one a lot! I love the colors, but the composition is the real prize-winner for me! I love the random things in the corners -- they add so much! And great lines!

The colors are pretty! And I love the tilted angle!

A cool angle on this one.

The rocks are pretty hot, which blows out the detail (their texture would have added something to the photo, too). The white train car suffers the same fate. It is tough to deal with all that on a bright, sunny day with so much contrast between the subjects, but you chose your exposure wisely.

Great inclusion of the tree branches for perspective and the old, unused train track at bottom left.

I can hear the train rocking by. We lived near train tracks when I was a kid. My step-brother and I learned to count counting railroad cars with my dad. Good memories.

Can you believe that it's been almost a year since all of us were in London? Time has flown by!

You know I am going to like this one!

I agree with Mark in that the inclusion of the abandoned track at the bottom leads the eye further into the picture. You nailed the exposure though due to all the competing issues.

Overall a creative and beautiful train shot especially considering the photograph doesn't include the head end power.

Bottom line is I love it.
