Looking Ahead

Empty Tracks
August 2007

My iTunes: Ants Marching by Dave Matthews Band

Hey ya'll.....

Sorry that it has been so long.....

I have missed this so much. Unfortunately I will be gone a bit longer. As I am waiting for our container to arrive from London with our belongings, I am preparing our new home for the day when when move in (which is right around the corner). I am very excited but also very tired. Living out of boxes has become WAY too common for our family and I am looing forward to unpacking for awhile. I am a such a nester. Funny how those behaviors just click in without warning! I will be scarce around here for a little bit more time....whether it is visiting or posting. The whole cross continental move has got me a bit overwhelmed and at a loss for time when it gets to my blog.

I will be posting in about a week so make sure to check back!

Take care and have a GREAT weekend!

Leading us into the unknown.

I wonder, though, what part of the train makes those bright streaks?

Hey Anna!

Sorry it's been so long . . . I'm in college now!

I moved down here to Depaul (in Chicago) last Saturday and I have been loving every second of it!

I'll be updating soon, so you can see all of my adventures.

When I was young, I could rent U-Haul's 26ft truck, and load that puppy by myself in one day. Lovely Wife would clean as I emptied rooms and soon after the truck was loaded we would hit the road.

That was 15 years and 4 back surgeries in the past.

Now I have seizures whenever I see a moving van.

When either Lovely Wife or I see a U-Haul van, we say to one another, "Look Honey! Someone's having an adventure in moving!" Then I have another seizure at the thought of it.

(U-Haul's vans used to have "An Adventure In Moving" written large on the sided of their trucks.

Wonderful shot of the tracks, though I'm with Mark, wondering what causes the light/dark streaks.

A local move can be tiring and frustrating so moving from England back here must really be exhausing, Anna. I hope you're able to relax at least a little in the upcoming week.

It is good to hear from you and get caught up. I do not envy you, but I know you'll be glad when you're done.

That's so cool that you're back in America! Even though we both know London is the most intriguing city on this earth!

Don't get too stressed! Life only goes forward from here!

I'm amazed that you can even blog at all given everything you're going through now.

Railroad tracks keep calling me back. They are such powerful platforms for the visual message. You have, of course, captured these in such a unique way. It's a powerful moment that makes me think about perspective and potential.

Please know we're thinking of you as you settle into your new life in a new place far from your former home. What an adventure.
