This shot is for Mike. He has to forgive me for not posting it earlier. I was in Venice a couple of months ago. It was a wonderful trip. Even though I was far away and "powered down", my blogging friends weren't far from my mind. As my husband and I were going through a canal on a gondola, I saw this plastic chair next to the canal. My first thought was of Mike. He is a fellow photographer and blogger. He takes all sorts of stunning images. Some of my favorites have been of front porches that he comes across. So this one is for him. He is taking a break from his blog for awhile so I wanted to make sure to post this....

This is the best "front porch" yet. Can you imagine an old Veneitian couple sitting out there talking to the gons as they go by. This is a wonderful picture Anna and it makes me miss my blog.
I went to the first football game of the year last night and took some pictures. Youngest daughter is in the band. I am probably going to put up a picture on the blog today that I liked.

PS..Have you noticed how those white chairs have taken over the world? I saw a photo story in one of the British Magazines (Black and White I believe) and the guy took pictures of these white chairs and all the strange places he found them. It was great!

Love this picture and all the textures and colors and especially the plastic chairs.
The homes we stayed at in Nicaragua and Haiti had them also. In fact that was the majority of the furniture we sat on.
I love that photo, Anna. It is jarring, however, to see such an ugly, ubiquitous plastic chair in such a beautiful antiquated setting!

Mike does love porch shots! One of my favotite things about looking at blogs is getting to see different parts of the world.

That's really cool! I think front porches are an important part of the house they're great for well...sitting! We don't have one though.
I'd love to know the story behind that chair and "porch". Who sits there? How did they end up there? So many of your pics make me think and wonder.
