What I'm Listening To: Covered by Telecast

Hey there.

It's late. I have been out all evening. I took 325 pictures at a party tonight for my friend. She is moving back to the States on Monday and getting married later this month. I am really going to miss her.

I thought this was an appropriate image to share seeing how this is what I looked like all night....

I will have another pic in the am...

Night.

I snapped this myself a few days ago in the city. We were walking by a building with tinted windows and I caught a glimpse of myself as I was walking and thought..."why not?"

:) Anyway, it isnt the best....but I had fun doing it. My favorite part is the brick wall in the shot...it gives it depth and interest.

Nice! I like the bits of green.

(It's easy to take that many shots. Sometimes I am surprised at my numbers when I download from a couple of hours of shooting.)

I can understand that... I took 600 at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens over two days. What fun! A nice mysterious self-portrait here.

hi anna--this is talitha and i found your site through john #2...anyways i've been following your photo-a-day since and i really enjoy your work. i think i have a similar style to you because i tend to take close ups with a short depth of field...although if i had a landscape to inspire me, who knows what would happen!
were you by chance taking photos tonight for a miss k. trott? i was an intern with her when she interned in southall and i'm really excited for her wedding coming up. oh and my parents are with whm in ireland--the brauers--did you meet them in greece? so, anna, i think we know a lot of the same people, but i don't know you yet. but we will meet some day and i look forward to it :)

Great mood in this shot, Anna. How do you keep your hair so nicely when you're shooting? Mine always ends up messy from the camera strap and my flailing arms.

375 images: I love how the combination of a digicam and a large memory card can change the way one shoots. We've gone from shooting in 24- or 36-shot increments to multiple hundreds. I don't even think about numbers anymore. I just stuff a few huge SD cards in my bag and go.

It really frees the mind to go shooting.

i think that this is the first photo of the day that has actually included you in it...i could be wrong...i was wrong once, but it was a long time ago and i was only 4...

Welcome Talitha....

I did see your parents in Greece and your mom and I have some wonderful conversations. I met them back in Philly at A&O at WHM awhile back.
Great people!

I am glad that you are hanging around out here looking at the pics too! And last night was for Kimiko. It was wonderful. She will be terribly missed here although we are excited for the new journey she is starting. I may be posting one or two of the pics at some point.

Thanks for coming by! :)

Hi Anna -
I actually had a picture of a train posted on Overflow, but after I saw your self portrait, I decided to put mine up as well. I took it just a few days ago and printed it on Friday. It was going up soon anyway, but it is so similar, I figured better not to wait.

It's not one of my favorites compositionally, but it does look like me!

What a riveting photo Anna, like a page out of a thriller. Reminds me of the buck-fifty movie Mom and I saw last night, The Good Shepard.

That day when John was 4? His Mom fessed up. He was right after all. Sorry.

This is one of those photos that I am drawn to keep coming back to. Somehow they speak volumes about the photographer.

How incredibly interesting.

HA! It's so funny that you haven't posted in a few days...and I haven't checked! :) I'm still in Pittsburgh...speaking at another church tonight. Love this picture! I've got one-two little bars on my wireless connection...so I hope this posts!

Love you.

I like the self portrait, Anna. The imperfections you mentioned above give the pic a lot of character and depth. Great work.

The only day I've ever taken that many pictures is last year when I went to the NC State Zoo. Animals are so photogenic! LOL
