Time to Play

Hold on Tight
March 2007

What I'm Listening To: Fields of Grace by Big Daddy Weave

It was so pretty here today. We got a dinner invitation from some friends of ours and before dinner we went to the park. The kids had a great time running around and getting some fresh air. There is definitely something about a day like today. The good weather and good friends gave me a bit of the rejuvenation that I have been needing. I know God knew exactly what I needed today and I am so thankful that He delivered it to me.

I snapped these shots of my friends son while he was playing on the jungle gym. He is younger than my boys and just loves to run, play, and hang out with them. I was like that too when I was a kid....always wanting to be around the older kids. Being the youngest in my family, that usually was my brother & sister...lucky them! :)

So like it was for me, I am thinking today was pretty neat for him as well. I hope that you all have a good day tomorrow...

Is It My Turn Yet?

Hi Anna,

So glad to see your "Time to Play". Reminds me of the days our boys were younger. They are 31,27, & 24 now with the oldest & youngest married. We would visit a good park, or Vulcan here in Birmingham, or just go to a good pizza place. Miss those days.

We have had good weather here in Alabama except for the hot dry days and pollen (the pollen is terible this year). Hope to see rain soon.

Hope your days continue to be bright and prosperous. Enjoy ready your daily stories and viewing your photos. May God continue to be with you and all of your family throughout your daily lives.

Terry

Thanks Terry.

I am glad that you stopped by for a visit. I can't imagine my kids being those ages but my 13 year old is well on her way....YIKES! It all goes by so fast...

Glad to hear that you are having some good weather there in Alabama. If you all lived here, you would get plenty of rain! Have a good week!

Anna the shot of the little guys hand brought back a flood a memories.

I loved the time in our boys' lives when their hands looked like that. I distinctly remember enjoying the look and feel of those pudgy hands when they were that age. Ahhhh jeeeeesh Anna, what did you go and do this for? :)

little boy hands......all pudgy and still soft.....and still needing to be held.

My son is often the youngest amongst our group of friends and he LOVES it. The kids always make sure he's included.

I love watching a group of multi-aged kids playing together......on the playground at the school, at the beach, at picnics. It seems so much more natural......

Thanks again for your comments. Would love to visit you in London. We could go to Food for Thought in Neil's Yard...
And I want to go to Italy too. Desperately!
Have a good night...

Great shots. I like both of them but I think I like the bottom one best. He just looks like he is having fun.

I think your brother and sister were the lucky ones!

I love the picture of the hand. It makes me want to run upstairs and kiss kiss kiss my baby's hands. It's something that he loves - and he gets the most amazing look of contentment when I do it. Great shot!

No matter the age kids like to play. These are such warm shots. I like the full of life look to them. My kids are 38 and my baby is 34. How did they get older and I stayed 39 one more time?

Don't you just love the pudgy little fingers of early childhood.. they morph into the long thin fingers of adolescence and disappear. But they are so much fun to watch while they last.

Again very very nice. I love the warm glow of the evening. I bet your friend will be really pleased with these. I have found that if I shoot candid shots at the shows they sell most of the time. I usually shoot them for myself as stock (spurs or close crops that sort of stuff)but the horse owners love them.

You have a real gift for this sort of thing. Great.

hi. so this brought tears to my eyes... though first I thought that this cute hand must be your Sam. i know that I read a few comments of people remembering the ages of baby hands and the days when their children were young... but seeing the below pic.. my little boy seems to be growinig up way to fast. I can't believe it. though you captured him so well. what a gift. He looks so old to me hangin over that slide. As for last night, we had a great time too... thanks. hope that you find a way to enjoy the sunshine and weather today too... I'm booked, otherwise I would call your fam. out to play again! =) jenn
