My iTunes: Beautiful Mystery by Telecast

Hi everyone...I promised you a Hawaiian sunrise so here it is...

In the wee hours of the morning before we left Maui, we were picked up at 2:05 am at our hotel. We were driven up to the top of a volcano to watch the sunrise. After the sun was up were rode bikes down to the bottom. It was amazing.

When the sun began to show itself...I was captivated by the line in the horizon. The beautiful blues, oranges and yellows. Just majestic. If you click the image you can see the clouds...as it got brighter you could see the clouds spilling into the crater. You can see it in the image below. Beautiful.

The shot below is of me with the crater behind me. I am dressed in my all weather gear they provided to me to ride the bike in freezing temperatures. As the elevation dropped, the temperatures rose and the layers were peeled off one at a time! It was a blast and I recommend that if you go to Maui...please do this bike trip!

Everyone get ready....my new Project starts tomorrrow! I haven't even decided on a color yet!
Have a good weekend everyone!

Me and the Crater (and the Sun...)

This post brings back many memories. Julianne and I got engaged in Maui. I brought the ring on the trip but did not know when to propose. I took it everywhere. I thought Haleakala would be perfect. Driving back down, I stopped over a picturesque spot. As I approached her and prepared to take a knee, a group of bicyclists came around the bend and all piled into the turnout where we were. It kind of killed the mood so I had to wait for another opportunity.

Your pictures here are beautiful and obviously cause a reaction. Thanks for letting me reflect. :)

WOW! That sunrise is fabulous! In the bottom picture, I think it looks like the volcano is SPILLING the clouds -- rather than lava! Both are great and beautiful shots! What a time you had in Hawaii!

I can't WAIT for tomorrow! What color will it BE? Just whisper...

Wow, it takes a dedicated photographer to get up that early! I honestly don't know if I would have done it... = )

It was nice talking with Sadie briefly this afternoon -- hope you got some good pictures of cheerleading!

Anna, you are so lucky to have had a clear morning... When we did the trip up Haleakala it was overcast, cloudy and freezing cold! Your photos are gorgeous! :D

I love your sunrise photo. Sometime this summer, I hope to get one of these ... I live on the sunset side of the island.
