My iTunes: Wide Open Spaces by Dixie Chicks
In my two seconds of internet I am so glad to be able to post. I shot this in Murano, Italy. There are many places on walls where you can stop and pray throughout Venice. This was the mosaic on one such place. I found it to be stunningly beautiful the closer I got to it. Below are the tools that are used in doing mosaics.
Happy Tuesday!

don't you just wish you could piece together every part of your picture like a mosaic?
nah. too time consuming. :)
beautiful image.
very pretty and thanx for showing the behind-the-scene pic....lovely colors of mosaic tiles.
Really cool, Anna.
I like that Dixie Chicks song too.
Your images below this post are cool as usual too ;)
Tell Jackie you could do that! Cut it into many small pieces and rejoin them, leaving a tiny bit of space inbetween the pieces. The mosaics in Italy are very special!
Beautiful, so beautiful. i love Morano glass. Hope your internet will be more cooperative for you Anna.
Nice to post both the images. Lovely colors!
Interesting ! It's amazing how those mosaics have survived better than most other forms of art...
Cool pictures. The mosaic was beautiful...but it didn't have any of the trademark Anne-ness to the shot. I was about to be dissapointed until I saw the second one. Added a nice personal flair to the set and made the top picutre more interesting by it's inclusion.
When I look at one of the huge mosaics it just overwhelms me to think of how anyone could ever have the patience to create such beautiful and painstaking works of art.
I dig mosaics. To make one, the artist must first have an idea, then lots of patience.
Good shots here, and I especially like the one that shows the tools of the trade.
You're still doing color right on this latest kick.
The bottom photo makes me long to have a skill to do with my hands. I respect people who can "make" things...whether art or something more mundane.
These mosaics are beautiful, and you did a great job of recording the subtleties of shading present in the individual tiles.
that's cool...i love the work that has gone into the facial tones.
thanks for sharing this!
Missing you and your daily photo :-( Hope you guys are having a good time with family!!!
Well don't do THAT, Anna!! I can lend you a diaper, if you like.....
LOL
Thanks for your input on my latest topic, Anna ;)
