Project Black. Take Eight.

Cow Bells
July 2008

My iTunes:   The Great Divide by Hanson

These are in my house.  I love to go into antique stores and find things.  However these days I no longer go hunting for goodies....why?  Because I am purging any and all things not necessary.  For some reason I have had enough.  For now, these are staying.  I like them.  The top one is black and the other is a copper and black.

More tomorrow!

What a cool shot Anna. I love the vignetting. It's so simple but is striking at the same time. I love it's off-centeredness too. Even though it's against the rules, the black and white here is awesome.

I like the bells and being from farm country I know just what the black and copper one looks, feels and sounds like.

When my cousin Tommy got married another cousin and I snuck into his house while he was away on Honeymoon and wired 40 of those bells to the underside of the master bed.

I used to go to antique stores, junk shops and second-hand shops and I'd love to bring home all sorts of stuff. But now, I've had it too. I'm purging as I can. Problem is, my kids don't want much of it! LOL

Love it! And what do you know, it's off-center! Surprising ;)

I once had a crush on a girl in our high school who was a Cow Belle at the county fair. At other fairs, she would have been a Princess or an Attendant. Small towns...

That's a good picture. And I put one up for you.

I can see why you keep them. And when you're tired of them, you can print the photo and put it on your wall. Very nicely done.

I too am in a purging mood. We shall see what goes out the door in the next week.

Gorgeous shot. Usually I can say why I like something so much but I'm not sure what it is about this. Maybe the simplicity and the circle of light. In any case, it's beautiful.

Nice shot of the bells. An even nicer B&W composition!

Great shot and composition. Love the black and white.
We purged a lot when we moved but we now are trying to sell many of our collectibles and antiques. We just don't want so much around anymore and I know my kids really don't want to deal with all of it.

Beautiful bells, and I do hope they never got tied under anyone's bed before!!! Beautiful picture, as always!

Lovely and gentle. You "frame" your subject so beautifully.

I'd keep them too!

Pretty. I'm glad you are keeping them. I have phases when I get rid of "stuff". Too much stuff weighs you down!

I gotta have more cowbell.

Your bells remind me of my holidays in Italy in the mountains the cows were wearing them and it sounded so nicely !

Very nice... terrific texture. Funny... I'm purging stuff, too... must be something in the air ;-)

This is a wonderful photo - I love the way you caught the light glinting off the top one especially.

I totally empathize about "having enough" and have been getting rid of stuff for a couple years now.

Very cool photo! Reminds me of my husbands parents place in the country. I'm playing for the first time, I really am looking forward to participating in this challenge!!! FUN!!

Lovely shot! I immediately thought of the goofy SNL skit. Can't ever have too much cowbell. :)

Alexa and the ancient man in black for Take 8.

Very nice one. The oval of light almost seems to be grow or shrink, depending how I look at the picture.

The texture, as someone said before, came out great, too.

Oh very cool!!
I've just caught up with my missing 2, so I'm on take eight too :)

My eight is up and I will put my nine up tomorrow!
