Project Black. Take Eleven.

Not Just a Chair.
July 2008

My iTunes:  Thunder by Boys Like Girls

I had a fun shoot tonight at this quant bed and breakfast.  It was great to meet my clients in person and we all clicked immediately!  I was shooting 2 twin sisters and their grandchildren.  I will be posting some of the wonderful pics after I am done editing.

I was so happy to see this retro lawn furniture when I arrived and when I spotted the old black paint on the back showing through I knew I had my next Project Black...I am in LOVE with this picture...

Thanks Courtney for a very fun shoot!  It was a pleasure to meet your family!

(Courtney using Anonymous because Blogger and I don't seem to agree on my password and it's the only way I can post) We had such a fun time at the shoot as well and cannot wait to see the photos! You were so great with the kids--we had no idea our kiddo would evolve into such a ham in the course of one photo shoot! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

These chairs are retro? There's a whole army of them on my Uncle's porch. Mostly they are faded red and rust colored and we've been sitting n them for YEARS! We just thought they were OLD.

I love the photo, too.

I LOVE this photo, the angle is awesome!! Those chairs remind me of my childhood and many fun summer days!

My 4th take is up, come by and see!

I'm so glad to hear your shoot went great. I knew it would but it's still good to hear. And reading Courtney's comment really confirms it. I can't wait to see what you got. As for this picture, it's great. I love the brick as a background. I'm not so worried about black not being the dominant color in my post tonight after seeing this. :)

Such a wonderful colorful project black! It really is a wonderful shot. I can see why you love it. I love the angle and the different color sectors.

It took me a moment to realize what that was! We had chairs like that on the porch when I was a kid. It really took me back.

I love the angle you've used there, and the textures, and the black showing through. Very nice, as always.

but it is really not nice of you to shoot people ! I hope you won't land up in jail but if yes I bring you some organges, lol !

Sounds like your photoshoot was a hit! And if this shot is any indicator, I know it was :)

Yep, the chair looks like a lot of those around here all rusty and covered with weeds.LOL

Great eye finding the black hidden under the yellow. I like it even more for its subtlety.

I took a break for a few days but I'm back today with Modern Spaghetti.

Looking forward to see the photos =)

My black is posted.

Happy weekend!

Nice, nice, nice. What a great eye you have. You sure know what to do with the business end of a camera.

I've got number 11 up. I'm late.

Great shot with the subtle black. This has been a fun project for me. I posted number 9 as my final shot for this challenge.
Of course from now on all I will see is black...I'll probably shoot them anyway.
Your business sounds like its booming. Congratulations.

It is a fantastic shot! I like that there is also some color in the photo.(I'm finding it difficult to shoot unrelieved black all the time--I hunger for other colors!)

I think the color accentuates the black and makes an impressive composition. And the very cool retro design just adds that much more.

I love these chairs. Were you laying on the ground to get this?

I saw some today at PB Outlet. I was tempted to get them, but I really want some red rocking chairs for the railed porch in the front.

Hey Anna,

I've MISSED Project Black! I love your chair shot and it's a good lesson in finding something when you're searching for it (why does there seem to be a spiritual lesson in that? :) ).

Quite unexpectedly, I threw a ”cyber party” for anyone not going to BlogHer and the turn out was so heavy, that's all I've been doing since Friday (blog-wise, anyway). I think I even saw a f e w PB participants in the mix :).

Anyway, I'm back with another series, this time I've taken you inside our home :)

This is my kinda shot! Love it, Anna!

I like the chair. Reminds me of sitting on the porch of the tiny old cabin my parents have that overlooks the Connecticut River. Sadly this is the last year they'll be spending the summer there. Travel is getting a bit much for them.

I've finally got comments working on my project black site. Feel free to stop by.
