Sticking with Signage...

My iTunes: Penny and Me by Hanson
WOW...has it been 9 days already of Project Black? Time flies!
I actually have a TON of black in my house and I until yesterday, I hadn't shared much of it. Here is another piece. BTW, quilly's comment yesterday about cowbells under the newlyweds bed got everyone in stitches laughing! Thanks quilly! Man, I feel sorry for those two! Please go read her comment yesterday if you have not yet seen it!
This piece hangs in our kitchen. My sister has one also and it has followed us from home to home over the years. While I did not turn this image to black and white, I faded it quite a bit for a different look. In my quest to purge...this will not be going anywhere either! I guess you are realizing how hard it is for me to get rid of things!

I really like that sign. My #8 is finally up and it's a sign, too. When I saw this on Wednesday I thought of you...
A simple but elegant prayer. And a great shot once again with a fun angle. Unless it's hanging in your house like that!!!
love the angle of this one. So interesting!
I believe a little bit of black anchors a room. If all of my stuff weren't in storage, I would have plenty of black. For one more week, I will have to settle for swimsuits and flip flops.
That Quilly - she's something else, for sure! I like your little painted iron dooby. And your cow bells too!
We have a similar sign (or two) on our walls. You're is excellently placed.
I posted my PB 9 just now. It's a praise picture. Hope you'll join in for just a minute. I'd be honored if you did.
I LOVE THAT! Its so pretty!!!
It's absolutely remarkable to me that your mom and Judy are "related." What a small, small world. I'll leave a similar note on her blog, too.
Anna, I have that same one hanging on the brick of my den fireplace!
And yes, Paul, I have known Anna since she was born, and her mom for a few years before that. We go back a long way!
NICE! Can't wait to see more from your personal collection.
Anna, when I moved last summer after 30 years it was the hardest thing to try to purge things - keep what has the most sentimental value like this little piece - it and things like it are little treasures. And...it's still HARD!
It was a little hard to read the text, it is a beautiful sign !
Black Mexican Turtles
I prefer the selective purging method....think about getting rid of it and then moving on to something else.
Love your black sign, of course it needs to stay.
that is definately not one to purge, you must have got me in the mood for purging, as i have been cleaning the cupboards today, and lots has gone!! Great shot Anna. and yes Quilly's comment was amusing, still having a giggle about it!!
I just don't know about that Quilly person. [shakes head] ;) (I'm always happy to spread cheer.)
Now about this trivet -- yep, trivet -- my Gram had one in her kitchen. It usually hung on the wall, but if the big pot went on the table (usually full of dumplings or homemade noodles) that trivet came off the wall and held the kettle. Thanks for the memory -- and the angle is perfect because it really does look lik it's on the table waiting for the kettle.
I've enjoyed noticing how much "black" is around, too.
I'm starting to run out of pics I took for this challenge, though. Hmmm...
My Take 9 is here: http://www.ramblingsbyreba.com/2008/07/18/project-black-take-9/
Good take! I'm even more behind - now at take 7. Cheers, Klaus
Terrific... everything about it is spot on... the angle, lighting, and what it says, of course. And that you can see just a hint of the ceiling.. very cool.
Better late than never, I just posted some of my black shots.
I like it!
Anna: Great photo today of the sign.
That's very lovely...I'm glad that is staying too. I get attached to things for sentimental reasons. I have found black surprisingly fun as a theme.
I'm just like you, lots and lots of things I'm attached to, and never being able to get rid of anything!
But I love the angle of the picture, and what it stands for!
Very nice, love how you angled that with the simple background. My 3rd shot is up!
what a lovely sign!! And the angle of the shot is wonderful!
Love that photo - you made my day =)
Good grief, it is day 9. Mine are up. Lovely sign that is so very true.
Oh yes...Quilly and her shenanigans with the bells....*shaking head*
