Signage Part Two
July 2008
My iTunes: See The Sun by The Kooks
I could not resist this. I know, two signs in two days...well, I like it!
Actually, this is one of my favorites! And yes, I did break the rules again...but guess what??? Next time...NO RULES! :)
Mary Mac's Tea Room is in Midtown Atlanta. Please come and check them out when you are here to support out local economy! You will not be disappointed!

I like both the signs. No rules sounds good! :)
I would love to go to Mary Mac's for good Southern cooking and hope to get there someday.
Love the angle of the sign pictures very much.
I do hope you continue this Project Black a while longer. I have pictures all over the place of black things. It has been a lot of fun and I think the pack of pirate tattoos I picked up for my grandson while out today will be a fun Project Black pirate stuff.
Thank you for Project Black.

Two complete shockers here: You're breaking your own rule; and you're looking up! I love it!
Oh I like the sign and I'd love to visit there. I haven't been to any south eastern states. I also like the no rules tease....
Great angle. Creates an interesting, dizzying composition.
I wasn't sure about the Project Black rules as it is, so when you talk about breaking them, I'm not sure if they're your own rules or rules we are supposed to follow.
In any case, I'm wondering how far off I can go from the rule of it being photography as opposed to art. And still call it Project Black. Because I love the great, observatory, friendly community you have created.
Oh, I love this!
Where in Midtown? I've never heard of it, but it sounds like a great place!!
Great shot, great angle. Love the sky in b&w!
Both signs are very cool as are the photographs. No rules sounds good to me. Rules, in any case, are meant to be broken so it comes out about the same except no rules means no guilt.
Would just go in there and have a cup ! I found the color "black" difficult at the beginning and then I found a lot of black in my files, lol !
:) It's the same, yet different--nothing wrong with that! In mine from today, I have both a sign and another where I'm looking up. I would have never thought to look up (I don't think) had you not prompted me to from your earlier photo.
Now? I think I'll always be sure to.
Have you ever eaten at Jestine's in Charleston? It's different than MM but it's still down home cookin'--best fried chicken I've ever had!
Much to love about Project Black! thanks again for hosting! :)

I'm not sure of the rule you mean -- is it that it can't be an archive picture taken before the Project started? Or was that a rule?
I never ever thought I'd say this but I love the utility lines in this... as well as the rest of it, of course.
I am, very much, enjoying Project Black... tons of fun!
On a blackened door in London.
Both of the sign photos are like little time machines (the B&W helps with that effect). I'm enjoying this challenge, too. The comments aren't working on my site right now, but feel free to stop by.

Great perspective on this shot! Looks great in black and white!
ALL 7 PROJECT BLACK POSTS ARE HERE!

agree with lynn about the rules bit!
one of the things that i love about the states are the diners - you guys (and the french) really get hospitality - we are crap in the uk at it - no-one seems happy to serve anyone anymore - sad....
I've lived in Atlanta most of my life, but I've never eaten there...
My take 7 is up. :)
I like the signs. I just ran across your blog from a visiter to my blog and noticed that we both live the Atlanta area. I too have a photograph a day blog come by and check it out.
Well you know the old saying...rules are meant to be broken! At least that seems to be the American way especially out on the streets and highways. :)
Great project Anna...it was fun being a part of this one.
Nice angle, and no rules sounds good :)
I don't break rules...I think outside the box.
Anyway, it's another great sign and you don't have to apologize. Good stuff.
I posted #7 finally. Was having trouble with Blogger.com today, so I thought outside the box and used Photobucket to upload the picture. Worked.
Ugh! TWO signs in TWO days and both from the SAME place -- how can we EVER forgive you!? LOL! They are BOTH awesome - and it's YOUR blog! I say do as you wish! I like the NO RULE rule the best anyway!
Mary Mac's Tea Room....great signs; I love the old-fashioned flavor of them.
I've forgotten what the rules are anyway!
I know nothing at all about Mr. Linky (except how to input my link), but I have noticed some blog hosts post a fresh Mr. Linky with each new post (for example Mrs. Nesbitt's Place for ABC Wednesday which you can see on my Come Away With Me blog)...just a thought for next time...
I'm enjoying the challenge of finding black to post. Thank you for being our host!
Great angle. Very nice shot. :D
Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do......I like these signs anyway and no rules should make everything very interesting.
Last time I was in Atlanta I supported your local economy by staying in The Westin -- 78th floor! Eating at a great Jazz Pub whose name escapes me, but whose food was wonderful! (Within walking distance of The Westin.) And purchased a new purse and wallet at Macy's. I don't know why the new purse and wallet since the ones I brought with me were empty after paying the cab fare from the airport!
I wish I had found Mary Mac's though. Your photos are great and the place sounds quaint.
LOVE THAT!!!! I wanna go!!
I've just discovered this terrific meme... Very cool indeed ;)
I'm getting a bit of a late start, but will soon catch up.
Thanks so much for organizing! Fantastic caputures thus far!
No rules? And I was doing OK with them. I love signs too... especially if they have a comic turn to them! Great picture.
I have eaten at the "Abbey" near the Fox theater... absolutely fabulous! Perhaps I will be in Atlanta again (not on a move through though) and can try this out!
No rules are good rules *g*
Once again an amazing photo. I ♥ it.
My next project is posted, too. Reminds me of childhood :)
oh, there ARE rules! What are they?
Not only did you break the rules but you helped me to break them too with the second picture on my post :-)
I really like all the diagonal lines in this one.
I love it.
This is a really cool shot - I think one of my favourites so far!!!
You rebel, you! Breaking your own rules. I like it!
love the sign! You have such interesting ones there compared to our boring ones here!!
I'm enjoying this challenge, hope it carries on for a few more days
