So I finally got it up! Here goes.....
I can't do a Project without at least one sign! My father-in-law took all his grandkids to lunch today and I snapped this! Mary Mac's Tea Room is an Atlanta favorite if you want homestyle southern food. On my handwritten order? Chicken and dumplings, green beans and fried green tomatoes. YUM! Anyhow...it was great!
I am kind of Mr. Linky'ed out right now so I am not putting the links up. Tomorrow I am home all afternoon and night so I am going to catch up on all my commenting...if you haven't heard from me yet...I WILL BE THERE...I promise! Also, I am going to be doing Project Black for a few more days at least for those who have been asking...

Is this the famous Mary Mac dressed in black from the children's jumpr rope rhyme? I hope not because I want some of those chicken and dumplings, and preferably without tacks!

Gosh that is an old lettering style that was very popular in its day. Nice to see it is back on signs again.

You photograph signs like no one else does. Anna, I miss the doors you photographed in England, did you ever find nice ones in the US? Oh, and I posted my grandparents wedding today... in real b&w!
Wondering what "tacks" Quilly's talkin' about... I was worryin' about chokin' on a silver button myself! It's a delightful sign! And I LOVE a tea room! But I thought tea rooms served finger sandwiches and scones! I'm IN for the fried green tomatoes though!!! YUM!

Hilarious. I just saw Dave in concert a few weeks ago for the third time, at Hershey Park stadium (about 40 minutes from home). Gotta love Dave.

Project Black is fun! It gave me an excuse to get out and take some pics of my son and his new mohawk as well. ;-)

Ahhhh! Mary Mac's--your photo took me back to when I lived in Atlanta a thousand years ago...it IS an institution, isn't it?
I've missed a few days in Project Black, but I think I made up for it today with my series (that took me FOREVER to load because TypePad was VERY slow...sounds like some of what you were battling with Blogger :/).
If you've never been to downtown Chattanooga, you'll see there is a whole lot of "black" to be discovered :).

Nifty sign and I like the angle you've shot it at (at which you have shot it?)... I had problems with blogger late last night, though only briefly. Thanks so much again for creating these projects. They are fun and have really given me a new way of playing with my camera and of looking around me.
Hey! That looks familiar! On my order? I forget! But I do remember the two glasses of sweet tea! Oh, and the pot licker was, well, interesting. And I don't think I will ever forget the lady who came around to rub our backs. Scary... I took a photo of a sign inside - with my cell phone! Perhaps if I ever post again I'll post it grainy and blurred as it is.
What an inviting sign, and such a pretty photo. I love the diagonal line. The food sounds wonderful, too.

(Concert to see Mark Knopfler at Chastain Pk)
We will be just passing through on our way to a family reunion in Athens Alabama.
Anyway...this restaurant sounds interesting so I'm gonna check it out online- Maybe we can go there! :)
BTW- I am enjoying the Project Black a lot! :)
