What I'm Listening To: Serenade by Steve Miller Band...I love this song!
I can't tell you how ready I am for this weekend! John comes home on Sunday so I will spend the next couple of days preparing for his return and my subsequent checking out! Just kidding! :)
Although I am looking forward to some relief after 19 days of single parenthood, I may not get it right off. I got word today that after feeling great the first two weeks, he has been in bed quite sick for the past 24 hours. I am praying his body heals quickly for his trip back here. Please keep us in your thoughts while he begins his adjustment back home. I have no doubt it may be hard for him as he begins to process all he has seen and experienced for the past couple of weeks. At some point soon, I hope to hear all about his adventures in India and how God is working there.
I took this shot several weeks ago on a trip into the city. I remember stopping and taking this view in because of how pretty and radiant it looked to me. It is one of my favorites I have taken with the combination of the warm light pouring in from street level along with the lines and shadows from the iron frame of the gate. I should have shared this shot earlier because it is soothes me. This definitely would have been helpful earlier in my week for sure. Better late than never I always say!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Anna.....it is one of my favourites. the light is so soothing and warm. At this time of year, when the wind and rains take away the snow, I long for the warm sunshine and need it for my health more than any time of the year. I would LOVE to have this photo blown up in my office to gaze at.
Will be sending get well thoughts to your husband in hopes that he feels well when he reaches home and you!
take care.
Anna this is beautiful, when I see your photos it makes me realise all that I missed while I was in London.
You are up late tonight!!!!
Sending positive thoughts for your other half to recover so he can come home healthy. Enjoy his homecoming.
Sorry about the cat allergy LOL

it IS a soothing photo, anna.thanks for sahring it with us..
i just said a prayer for john and hope he does have a safe and healthy return. i can imagine he might have a bit of culture shock after returning.... after seeing india's sights and coming back to the "mainstream", so to speak...i've heard that india changes you....
While I can't think of one Steve Miller Band song that I like, I do like this photo. A very lovely quaility to the light!
Anna, I really like this shot. As you and others said it is very soothing and warm.
I pray John gets to feeling better and gets home smoothly and safely. I know you will be glad to get him there.
Take care!
Mike
You're right Anna this is a soothing picture.
I'm praying for Johns' quick recovery.
Anna,
A beautiful photo as always. I'm praying for your husband's health and your sweet reunion.
Blessings to all of you. Tracy
Hey Anna, I have posted my award winners this evening.
Thank you again :)
Steve Miller was popular during my late high chool and college years. "The Joker", "Swingtown", "Jet Airliner", "Take the Money and Run"; I remember them all, and for some reason I didn't like any of them. I guess "Rockin' Me" was tolerable, but every time I heard "Some people call me the space cowboy, some call me the gangster of love" on the radio, I got an overwhelming urge to destroy the radio. Oh well, we all have our likes and dislikes! Have a good weekend!
HAHAHA! Yeah, I have songs like those John....and some of those ones you mentioned aren't my favorites... :)
What a beautiful shot and the light is wonderful! I will be thinking of you, John and the family and hoping the trip home is a safe one {{HUGS}}
Love the photo! I hope your dh is finding himself well again, and praying for safe travel!
I always loved the song Serenade. I'm with John though, that song The Joker is near the top of my all-time hate list.
This photo is wonderful. The light is perfect, and the stairs just make me want to walk into the frame and see what's up there.
Hope the reunion goes well (and that he returns to health soon).
Anna, I love the way you have captured the light streaming through the gate and building.
I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers as you awaited John's safe return.
warm, inviting, great light, composition, angles, shapes - all good!
as usual - like it a lot
I love the way the light glows softly against the stonework. Very ethereal, and very deftly captured.
I just woke up from a nap. I'm still quite tired - I got sick while I was there, and I'm still feeling somewhat off my game.
I'm sure I'll write about it sometime. For now, please know I'm praying for your husband's good health and safe return.
Serenade is a very nice song. On the CD that I have in my car I have SMB's Wild Mountain Honey so I hear it fairly often but it's been quite a while since I've heard Serenade.
This is so beautiful. You must have been so worried thinking of John ill and so far away!
