Parade of Brick and Iron

March 2007

What I'm Listening To: Dancing Nancies by Dave Matthews Band

Today is a day of little words I think. After a long week, I am just appreciating the fact that it is finally Friday. I am going to try to drown out the sound of the 5 small boys who are playing Gamecube in the next room and go to my happy place....

...OK, I'm there...

On one of my walks through our neighborhood, I found myself climbing a hill nearby. As I glanced over, I saw this string of weathered brick and wrought iron entryways to homes lining the sidewalk. Although I have passed by here countless times before, it was from this perspective that I finally noticed them. Funny how that happens. I had a feeling when I snapped this image that I was going to like it. I hope you like it too!

Have a good Friday!

I am really enjoying your photos. You have a Really great eye. I am in the process of purchasing a good digital SLR. May I ask what you use?

Nice perspective. I didn't think houses there had so many gates, I thought they were more open, I've been to England before, I stayed near Ipswich, and at the time I didn't care much about photography...

Hi Anna

I have just done a quick wizz through all your photos over the last few days. I promise I will be back to my regular comments etc. soon. I do still visit tho.

With the No. 40 photo I find mself wondering what it would look like if you had shot from a bit lower and had the number against the sky rather than against the building.

Love the flower and all the others with the electical wires etc. You really do have a great eye for detail.

Will be back to normal soon I hope.

It is interesting how sometimes one can look at life from a totally and unexpected perspective.

I like the photo Anna Bannana - I must be tired...I'm getting silly :)

I do indeed like it. Very much. You speak so eloquently about our ability to see the familiar in a whole new light by simply shifting our perspective.

The scene has a wonderful glow to it. I can't stop looking at the image.

I love these gates and posts, so different and yet so alike. Something to break up that uphill walk too.

Nice perspective and DOF. It has a nice moody look to it.

I like this perspective. I like to be drawn in and then out of the shot, and this one definitely does that. Very nice!
