Winding Up
March 2007
What I'm Listening To: Winter by Joshua Radin. He is an amazing songwriter and musician. Check him out on iTunes.
While Sadie stayed back to bake some homemade treats with a friend, my boys joined me for an outing in the neighborhood. I actually wandered by some places I had not been before and again pleasantly surprised! Nestled in between the several hundred year old dormatories of The Harrow School, I found this wrought iron fire escape. I am keen on the patterned brickwork alongside the building in the left of the picture as well.
Should I mention that I had to (sorta) trespass through a fence to snap this? It was a lesson in determination for the boys (at least that is the story I am sticking with for now). :) It was all I could do to keep them from climbing over as well while I managed to get a few shots...I might be sharing a few more of these pics of these later.
I was quite happy with the ones I got...this was my favorite.

Fantastic shot!!! I'm thinking I have the perfect place for this one!!! And it will go wonderfully in my den when I get a new house!

Wonderfull!
I LOVE the way the brick color looks in this. The lines of the staircase going up to the bright sun - this is just too cool!
Give us more of this one Anna!
i agree with cjc- fantastic!
and i have trespassed once or twice for a shot, too. although, in these parts, you've gotta be careful. you might get a gun in your face- they're pretty serious about trespassers in appalachia!
When I saw this I thought "stairway to heaven" because of the brightness at the top :)
Circular staircases have always held a fascination for me, but I wonder, if it was used to escape a fire, how quickly could the students get down? LOL
Anna, I have always been fascinated by spiral stairs. It's hard to imagine that this is a fire escape. I too wonder if has ever been used for that purpose. Love, Mom
cjc...you can open my gallery craig!
cg...that is exactly what I thought when I saw it too!
Cool shot, you can still get away with tresspassing there but here you definitely have to be careful LOL. I also like your shot from yesterday. Thanks for visiting Julie's blog too she has some great stuff and is a very proficient equine photographer. I hope you will check in there again, she doesnt always get to post every day, but she has a very different take on things and likes the close ups and different compositions.
Hope you are having a great weekend, when will your better half be back home?
Lori
Oh yes I meant to say I am sure I shot this School's individual portraits when I was in London. Will have to look at the map book and see if I am right.

Man oh Man oh Man....you have the most gorgeous photography. Methinks you need to update your profile and change the term "amateur," eh? I love stopping by here every day!
I can just picture you climbing over a fence or gate and all the while telling your boys it is persistence. Now to have a picture of you doing that.
This is a grand fire escape, so much nicer than the pull downs in New York.
probably one of my favorite pictures you have taken
Great shot Anna. You won't believe this but I shot a spiral staircase today also. I don't know when mine will show up on the blog. Got several I want to put in front of it.
Fancy fire-escape. Terrific shot with all the lines and textures.
I won't tell that you trespassed. It will be our secret.
The picture of the spiral staircase is great, Anna. Wonderful work.
