An Answer to Prayer

Rose Garden in St. Paul's Cathedral

My iTunes: Lay Me Down by Andrew Peterson

"Rejoice with me, I have found my lost sheep."
Luke 15:6
NIV

Many of you have been sending your thoughts and prayers out about little Joshua. You can click here and here to read the story of what happened. He has been missing after the small sailboat that he and his dad were in capsized and sank. His father managed to come up but Joshua got caught in the rigging and went under with the boat. Search teams and divers from all over the US have been searching for him since June 8th. Today at the end of a prayer vigil at Lake Jocassee, they finally found Joshua. I just know the family is so relieved to have him back so they can lay him to rest. They have stated countless times how they know he is in heaven with his Father and that are no prayers needed for him. Instead, they asked for prayers to go out to all the people helping in this search...for their eyes to see, for discernment, and rest for their bodies and souls as they spend hour after hour searching the area where the boat went down. Thanks so much for all your tireless work...

I am so grateful for this answer to prayer.

Awww... Anna, such a sad ending but as a parent, it's so important that we can lay our loved ones down at the end. Thanks for sharing this. Love your flower today too. A lovely rose.

I'm sure it is a huge relief for them to have this part of the tragedy behind them. After all this time, I'll admit I didn't have much hope. I'm glad I was wrong.

I also love the colors in the above image. The iridescence almost makes it look like wax. Very cool.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

I think that Joshua's dad has the link here and that he may be reading all your kind words at some point. I can only imagine how that would soothe my own heart if it were me....

I am very glad that they found him and now that his family can lay him to rest and say their goodbyes.

Thanks so much for your kind comment and thoughts on my blog. So appreciated by me.

So difficult to find a positive angle on this.

Unfortunately, things like this make me believe less in the power of prayer.

I know it will provide some closure for the family, though, and that's important. For that I am glad.

As for the photo, Nikon still hasn't fixed your viewfinder alignment problem yet, huh? (Heh, heh!)

Anna, I am so glad this chapter can be closed for this family. It will be difficult beyond my imagination. My prayers are with them.

I really like the crop on this shot, very well composed.

I think the father of Joshua need a lot of prayers too. I am sure the burden of loosing his son is something that will not diminish quickly.

Cheers,

P.

Wonderful photo and words, Anna. My Mother has said that it just seems wrong for parents to outlive their children.

I will let you know that it was through the power of prayer that Joshua was found!

At the exact moment that the head diver asked for silence, while my priest blessed the people and the water with a sprinkle of Holy water, the diver on the bottom of the lake found Joshua.

He found him on his last search of the area, on the last day of the full search. You see the divers had already told my brother in law that they were not going to continue searching, and that Friday was the last day of "Official" searching.

I / we did not know this at the time of the prayer service. They found him 15 min after they told my brother in law that they were going to stop.

It was the power of prayer!

This event has brought much saddness to my family. There is more to come. But for a little greif on our part, many people have returned to GOD!

I know. I recieved letters and emails of people I have never met as far as Japan, New Zealand, and all over the U.S. telling me exactly this.

If you do not believe then I have more greif for you than I do my family and our loss. The loss of your soul is morned by my son in heaven and a loving GOd.

We were given Joshua as a gift. (My wife and I could no more make a child with out Gods help than we could make the sun rise and set)

Joshua was taken as a gift.

I know this as fact.
