A Call To Arms

My iTunes: Electrical Storm by U2

Not many words tonight. I can't even think of a title for this image. Thanks for the title Julie! That is not like me! I am not feeling well. It is a combination of allergies (or as the Brits say, hayfever) and exhaustion.

I really like this image...very majestic. The sky is breathtaking and dramatic. The bronze figure in this strong and valiant stance adds even more drama I think. I snapped this in front of Buckingham Palace on a beautiful day. It stands near the Victoria Memorial which I have posted on before.

And for those of you who are paying attention...the subject is in the center of the frame. :)

Take care everyone.

"FREEDOM!"

It's not completely in the center, Anna ;) Looks great!

Ele-tri-cal storm....

"The Calling"

Almost the center :)

But it indeed does not make the image static at all. There are so many lines that follow the major diagonal from lower-right to upper-left, and the clouds are such a strong archetype of motion, that breaking this one single rule is no problem.

"Scary Man With Big Stick Riding A Lion?" What?? hehe Great image even if it's not quite centered, but the diagonal from mid-center to lower right quadrant makes me even more scared because of the strong arch angel in the clouds.

FOR THE RECORD, WHEN I SAY IT IS CENTER THAT MEANS IT IS AS CLOSE TO THE CENTER AS I LIKE TO BE! :)

I AM LOVING THESE TITLES...I AM GOING TO HAVE TO PICK ONE!

Anna,
I knew what you meant. I stay away from the dreaded center most of the time too ;)

How about "Stormbringer", as in the 1974 Deep Purple song and album of the same name.

Comin out of nowhere
Drivin like rain
Stormbringer dance
On the thunder again
Dark cloud gathering
Breaking the day
No point running
cause its coming your way
(Blackmore/Coverdale)

It's a powerful image, Anna, and I am too tired to title it! The beach wore me out.

He does look like he is powerful. And sometimes the subject just HAS to be in the middle.

I work toward using the "rule of thirds" but I'm certainly not stringent about it.

This picture reminds me of some old pictures I took at my school.

There was a homecoming theme for our parade that all the guys participated in by painting there faces like warriors.

This was back when I was really into warm colors for my pictures...brings back some memories

Very imposing and dynamic image Anna. My title would be "A call to arms".

hope the hayfever gets better soon. wet weather always makes it worse.

Anna; thanks for your kind comment on my blog. It really helped. Bless you xx

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling too good Anna {{{HUGS}}}

A very dramatic image but as for a title...I'm useless...I'll leave it to the others!

Hope you have a nice Sunday :o)

@john roberts: "Stormbringer"? Nice. I almost forgot that this is the title of a Deep Purple album, because most of all it's the name of Elric's sword, isn't it?

What about.....Truimphal Re-entry.

Great picture. Hope you knock those allergies off their little hairy feet.

That sky looks quite dramatic which is a great backdrop for that statue!

I do hope you are feeling better soon - I have been suffering from the same combination of tiredness and hayfever and it's miserable. Take care.

I said, "Wow," when I saw this one, and that's a mark of a good photo.

I'm reminded of the last time I rode into battle atop my glorious steed.

I miss that steed.

Everyone should have a steed.

Steed, steed, steed.

An impressive silhouette.

How about, "Hey guys, check out my new hammer!" or, "I just bought this lion and they threw in this hammer for free. Is that cool or what!"

Very dramatic. Great shot! Glad your feeling better (one advantage of playing catch-up is that I know the outcome by the time I read the "problem").
