Crisp and Clear or....

Ok, I can't decide...
I am NEVER this fickle...especially when it comes to my photography. So I thought that I would get the opinions of my readers as to which version of this shot you like better. I snapped this on another walk around the neighborhood. I really love the rooftops here and all the clusters of chimneys scattered about on them. It adds to the quaintness and suttle charm of my neighborhoood.

Be sure to comment (yes, I want hear from all you lurkers out there!). Let me know which one you prefer and why you like it. See you tomorrow.

i usually prefer soft and dreamy, but on this one i like the crisp and clear. very neat chimneys!
crisp and clear. the soft and dreamy effect detracts from the bold repetition of the chimney pipes.
Crisp and clear gets my vote here.
Crisp and clear, Anna. It looks like Mary Poppins land to me!
On this one I too like crisp and clear. When I first saw the picture though I wondered if the sky was that beautiful blue that I remember when we were there! Wonderful shot...Mary Poppins moment! Love, Mom
Hi Anna.....I like the soft and dreamy pic, mostly because I felt it must be lonely....everyone else is picking the crispier one.
Interesting how they tell very different stories....
Wednesday are often fickle. It doesn't know which side it's on....the end of the beginning of the week, or the beginning of the end of the week.....
WOW....crisp and clear 5. Soft and dreamy 0.
:)
OK Awareness....soft and dreamy 1! I lean towards this one as well.....you aren't alone.
O.K., add my vote for the "crisp and clear" version...
The "soft" version reminded me of your previous post -- "under the tree -- lazy days", which I think is a fabulous photo, but I don't think that same mood fits or really compliments the "chimneys"...
Keep up the great work, and I really do enjoy reading your commentary...
Being a big fan of pen and ink subjects, I'm hands down for the crisp and clear which has incredible detail. Great photos!
Dad
Crisp and clear. I was telling my son about your photo of the rooftops formerly and how it reminded so many of Mary Poppins. I almost had that feeling again.
I vote "Crisp and Clear". It's got a good beat, and I can dance to it.
Crisp & Clear......
goduke
Definitely crisp and clear for me. I hate to join the crowd but the detail seems to tell the story better.
Hi Anna
Thanks for your visits to my blog.
I like the crisper one because in the other one there is flare into the chimney pots which I think spoils them. I was just speaking to someone the other day about how great it is to shoot the roofs and chimney pots in London.
Great shots too from the past few days. Hope you are all well.

Crisp and clear....lovely neighborhood!
Definately the first one :o)
It is my first time here and I am just completely drawn to your photos. They truly tell a story and I am just transported inside its frame. I just love everything and your photo of a tree down below is my favorite.

Crisp and clear... why are there so many chimeneas?
Ooopss... I think they are spelled chimneys, they are pretty, but I was curious with the number.
This was a tough decision, but I think crisp and the clear!
Anna, I have not seen The Night at the Museum but my kids have, hum, I have to rent it! Have a good one!
Didn't read the previous comments, so sorry if I duplicate sentiments. Crisp and clear. My reasoning: the subject is hard brick and stone and very angular. Besides that, your pitch was off throughout the song. Oh, wait. Too much Idol. Go Blake!
love the sepia tones on both...but have to vote for Crisp and Clear.
Either way I have to say the light is fantastic and composition really interesting!:o)
Crisp and clear. It emphasises the lines adn the chimney pots.
I like them both, but for different reasons. I like looking at the details in the sharp one. I like the softer one for the emotion that it has.

I was expecting more of a debate when I clicked on the comments section. And sadly, I can't add much to it since I agree whole heartedly. Crisp and Clear.
Wonderful shot either way, though.
C & C, definitely. But then, I'm a crisp and clear kind of girl.
I prefer soft and dreamy, and I'll tell you why:
The structures are very bold and stark in and of themselves. To have a crisp and clear photo of them is redundant. To balance the natural starkness of the structures and to make the photo interesting in an artistic way, the soft and dreamy style is the only way to go (and might I add that I think soft and dreamy looks mildly eerie and even hallucigenically ill- like the day after a high fever).
I found your blog through blue mountain mammas, and I must say, I really like your photos!
My, my, am I outnumbered?! I just read everyone's comments.
However, despite popular opinion, I must stick with the dreamy choice- crisp and clear (in this case) is too BOR-ING!
This is fun!
The top one for me. Definitely can see the chimney sweep scene from Mary Poppins happening there.
i like crisp and clear. let's chat soon... i know that we are missing each other! x
"Crisp and Clear" on this one, Anna. I like the "sharpness" for this subject.
Reminds me of "Marry Poppins" ;)
Nice tones. I prefer the top one. It's so sharp and really grabs my attention.
Soft and dreamy...nice contrast with the subject!
I get to be different.... I like the soft and dreamy.... why? Well, because it makes me feel soft and dreamy.... I don't know. Don't ask me the hard questions!
