Project Yellow. Take Six.

Yellow Rope
April 2008

My iTunes: Your Grace Is Enough by Matt Maher

What a day! Did ya'll see all those comments on yesterdays post? I was busy checking all of your blogs and commenting myself. If I have not been to your site please let me know in your comment so I get there. This is so fun! Do you all realize that there are Project Yellows going from Indiana to South Africa and LOTS of fun and amazing places in between? How cool is that? Who would have thought? Not me.

I have been asked by a few of you how long I will be doing this project. I am thinking about a week. I started last Saturday night so this Saturday night will be the last one for this project....UNLESS...ya'll talk me into picking another color. I think I would like that. Let me know what you think in the comments. I would love to hear from you all...my partners in creativity!

Make sure to check the previous posts to see all the participants. If I had more time I would link to what I think is at least 35 people....THAT IS CRAZY but I am really enjoying all of you and your posts. I have added Mr. Linky below so we can all keep track of who is participating. Just fill in the box below and you are set up. Don't forget to comment and please link back here in your posts. Thanks.

I almost forgot...have any of you seen the Blue Angels fly in Florida? Well, I did...it was amazing. Absolutely exhilarating! And what did I take a picture of that day? This yellow rope. You got it....everyone else was looking up and I was looking down. TYPICAL. OK, I did take lots of other pictures but I knew I would be sharing this one FIRST!

LAST THING, I promise. Please check out Mark's Project Yellow tale...it is hilarious. He has been reading my blog for awhile and writes his own blog with a lot of wit. Check it out. I just want to be clear that no one should be getting hurt for their project yellow....unless it is me (I will suffer for my art). I totally want to hear all your stories of strange looks!

Enjoy!

Perfect metaphor for what you're doing to us (me at least)--

Roping us in...

Binding us together...

Keeping us in knots til you choose the next color???

I DO love this picture--the lines, the texture, the implication that there's so much more than what we see.

Yes, you must continue with another color. Perhaps give us a week or so to rest up, then we'll come back blazing. Spacing it out a bit will keep it fresh, don't you think?

I thought about posting a Mr. Linky to keep track of everyone--would that be helpful or is it fine "as is".

Again, Anna, I had no idea how this would stimulate a creative nerve, but obviously, I'm not alone! Thanks!! :)

Can't wait to see (and hear from) everyone's next take on Project Yellow.

Hey Anna. Thanks for dropping by just now. Had to drop you a quick note re. your comment:

You are thinking with your camera...I do that all the time. Where is your Project Yellow? ;)

I have to apologize for not actively participating in Project Yellow. It's not that I don't want to, but it's a pretty crazy time around here this week between Debbie's and my parents being in and out of hospital on an almost constant basis of late, and an uptick in client and media work that's kept me glued to my keyboard or stuck on a phone or in a studio.

I'm just barely getting new content uploaded to the blog this week, relying heavily on my archives and, sadly, not having much time to go out to shoot anything new.

So I'll sit this one out and chime in when life decides to be a little less dramatic. If you're good with it, I might even try to orchestrate some photographic-thematic series on my blog as well. I hope that'll be sooner rather than later.

Thanks for your ongoing understanding and support. I very much appreciate it.

Ooohhh...I love that metaphors Robin...very nice! I think a week break would be good and then people could check back to see the color! Sounds good!

And Carmi...I was totally playing with you! I hope things settle down for you and your family soon. My thoughts are with you and I totally understand! Please take care and as always I am happy to hear from you!

This is my favorite of the Project Yellow so far. I LOVE this image.

I wasn't particualrly happy with my daffodil picture I posted earlier for the Project, so I set out this evening to take some better submissions. I'll see if I can take your advice and space out my posting over the next few days, but I (like Mark) am not a patient person and may shoot them all out at once. We'll see.

Thank you so much for the kick in the creative pants. It's surprising how much a theme actually helps find subjects.

I really like your project yellow series! like this one a lot!

I have to say Robin has already said it best - those first three lines of her comment speak volumes!
I'd love to do another color with you!

The rope photo is awesome and the shade of that yellow is gorgeous! I can't remember for sure whose blog it is, but it would go nicely with her John Deere tractor and yellow leopard boots!

Very nice, Anna, as always!

Ohhhh mannn... I just popped in to leave a note that I posted Take Five for Project Yellow over at my place and you've got Take Six. Hooey...just when I think I'm catching up!
Thanks for doing this...I've had so much fun participating and watching what others are posting.
Another color? Fun!

If not another color... maybe a subject. It might be interesting to see peoples interpretations of a subject.

Anna said...

OK b13, maybe a subject...great idea!

To follow Robin's gold standard, Anna, your use of Linky helps tie us all together.

My latest PY post is up (hey! it has an abbreviation now!).

The textures in this pic remind me of long summer days watching my dad ski behind our boat.

Yellow is such a happy color. Just try to be angry while wearing yellow. It's like playing a sad song on the banjo - can't be done.

Mike

PS: Miss you too much!

This image, along with your whole series, has been quite impressive. I'm enjoying your work.

I'm officially "in." Last time I just linked a wordless wednesday entry...this time I made an official Project Yellow post! As I state in my post, I'm starting by searching my archives but really wanna get out and shoot specifically for the challenge. Thanks for doing this. It's lighting a fire in many of us.

Oh I would love for you to pick another color! I started project Yellow on Thursday and have put one up today, Friday. I think it is a VERY neat idea! I'm not as creative as you guys....but it does get you thinking in colors :)
LOTS of FUN!

Love this image...I think it is one of the best yet. I am trying the Mr. Linky thing.

Thanks for project yellow...we will see about the next color!

It's a worldwide phenomenon. Next thing you know, you'll be on Oprah!

As for the next color, I'd stick to the original Crayola colors - you've already done red and yellow. That leaves organge, green, blue, violet, brown and black.

If those don't suffice, I'd suggest one of the colors from Joseph's coat (according to Andrew Lloyd Weber & Tim Rice):

"It was red and yellow and green and brown And scarlet and black and ochre and peach And ruby and olive and violet and fawn And lilac and gold and chocolate and mauve And cream and crimson and silver and rose And azure and lemon and russet and grey And purple and white and pink and orange And red and yellow and green and brown and blue"

With my favorite being ochre, but I think it's too close to yellow...

I was amazed at how much yellow is out there when i went to town yesterday.. but alas. still no meadowlark photos.. :-)

I have never liked yellow. I can tell by the lack of it in and around my home. LOL

But there are a few things, mainly Spongebob, that are popping out at me around here.

I'm up for another color or a subject. Like Robin, it has knocked me up in the creativity department. (Thanks Robin for leading me here!)

Anna, I have another Project Yellow up - Take 3. Could you select a day of the week, say Tuesday, and do Project Yellow on Tuesdays for a while? I keep seeing yellow everywhere I go so I don't want to change colors quite yet. Especially since it's coming into Spring. I also have friends who would still like to participate... :D

The yellow rope is lovely!

Even though I haven't been participating in the project, it's been fun to see what people come up with.

This a an excellent addition.

Ha, ha I have been tempted to photograph Spongebob too, he is everywhere I look in this house!;)

You absolutely HAVE to do more colors, I'm having so much fun! Subjects would be interesting as well. #2 and 3 are up on my blog!

I wasn't sure if this was a one time shot, or the never ending post. I've noticed multiples on several sites. I'll try and pay more attention to the details next go round.

I just read about your project yellow, but haven't done it. I would like to see you do a one color each week and one day a week. Each week pick a different color. That would be fun. Everyday maybe much for me. I do ABC Wed., Skywatch Fri., and Scavenger photo hunt on Saturdays. I was just thinking what I could do on Sun., Mon., Tues., and Thurs. Let me know and I might jump in.
