Part Two of A London Snowfall

WOW...what an overwhelming response for my images yesterday and the day before. I am so grateful. It was a personal commenting record! Thanks to you all for your wonderful words! I get so much encouragement and laughter from reading your posts also.

Here are two more pics from yesterday...

I love the doorway above. See the snow throughout the hedge on the left? This home is so inviting to walk by everyday. I often find myself wondering who are the souls living there and what are they all about. I have had the thought to print out a photograph like this one and then drop it through their mail slot in the door. Anonymously or not...I am not quite sure. Of course I would have to explain that I am not a freak but just a wandering neighbor who loves the look and warmth of their home. What do you think? Should I do that? How would that make you feel if someone did that for you? Let me know.

Below is a wrought iron fence that clearly reminds me of London. These fences are everywhere here. Some are very simple, some are very ornate. As we walked to school I saw the snow on these and snapped it quickly while trying to keep up the pace with the kids. I like the way it looks. Very simple...and COLD!

when i've walked by houses i admire and the owners are out, i tell them how much i enjoy their house, flower garden, etc.....never thought of giving them a picture. but, of course, i'm in rural appalachia and could get a shotgun in my face for even approaching their mailbox! :)

Ooo, I think that's a great idea Anna! Of course, I'd probably not do it anonymously - include a note like you said, and your name. But seriously, what a cool gift to hang in your home...

Dude - I've got quite a post coming up tonight so stand by. God does crazy things on a regular basis in my life :) Well, all of our lives...I just feel like I've been living one big adventure!

Anna I would consider the gift of one of your photos of my home to be wonderful. Although I am in agreement with eurorebs about not doing it anonymously.

What is your opinion? Are the Brits open to that sort of thing?

What a great photographer you are. I was messing around a lot today with my camera and got so frustrated not being able to capture it quite the way I wanted to--I love the pictures from the previous post too.

Anna, it is a great idea to give them a photo and tell them how much you enjoy looking at their home. But do put your name on it so you won't be taken for a weirdo and freak them out...LOL

I agree with the above posters. I think that this photo would make a lovely addition to their home. The sharing of it could open the door to new friendships.
Perhaps you've already read it, but if not - Amy posted some good tips for knocking on doors at humblemusings.com.

Me... I would hang a picture like this in a place guests would see it. It is such a great shot. I'm torn on the anonymous vs signed thing though. I can make arguments on both sides... sorry, the world has been hard on me for a while now, so I think twice about this stuff.

I am sure your hubby will give you input that you and he will agree on. Here's my food for thought.

There are no reprocussions on the anonymous thing.. if they don't appreciate that you look at and potograph your house.. they throw the picture away... and maybe post a sign about not taking pictures... the other way... there can be reprecussions...

I see this as different from talking to someone working in the yard. There, they can choose to ignore you, or tell you what they think, and the connection ends...
